This was the answer for me. Seems my hard drive (Raid5 array) was having issues or something. I finally downloaded it on one of the file share servers here at work, and it finally had the MD5 checksum Rodolfo gives here. Nov 10, 2009 Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question? You receive the following message when installing F-PROT Antivirus:
![Error Error](http://www.telerik.com/images/editor/KB/1335_Error_message.png)
'Error 1335: The cabinet file '[file.cab]' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.'
This is a Windows Installer error that may occur for different cabinet file names located on the installation media (usually on CD).
To solve this problem, please select Abort on the suggested options. Then reboot your computer, copy the contents of the CD-ROM to your hard disk and try to run the installation again locally. To copy the contents of the CD-ROM to your hard disk, do the following:
- Right-click the desktop, point to New, and then click Folder.
- Type a name for your folder, such as FPAV, and then press ENTER.
- Hold down SHIFT and insert the FPAV CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. The SHIFT key prevents the Setup program from running automatically.
- Double-click the My Computer icon on your Desktop.
- Right-click your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click Explore.
- On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Right-click the folder that you created in step 2, and then click Paste.
Then install F-PROT Antivirus from the FPAV folder on your Desktop. Do the following:
- Double-click the folder that you created earlier that contains the contents of your FPAV CD-ROM.
- Double-click the .msi file to start Windows Installer and F-PROT Antivirus Setup.
- Complete Setup by following the instructions on the screen.
- Restart your computer after Setup is complete.
- Verify that F-PROT Antivirus opens successfully.
- Delete the folder on your desktop that contains the contents of the FPAV CD-ROM.
If the procedure above does not work, please perform clean boot on your computer. When you start Microsoft Windows normally, there are a number of programs that start automatically and run in the background. These programs, which may include antivirus and system utility programs, may sometimes interfere with the installation of a new program. When you perform a clean boot before you install a new program, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.
For more information about how to perform a clean boot, see the following:

If the suggestions in this article do not resolve the error, the files may have been corrupted. If this is the case, please download the program again and reinstall.
If the problem persists, please submit a ticket to our support department.
